Tomorrow Happens Here: New and Improved for 2013 Film Happy Hours & Lounge at the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel Daily Film Happy Hours will be held from 5–7pm in the hotel's Terrace Bar, located next door to the Paramount Theatre. Each night will be hosted by a leading company in the entertainment industry. You can also meet up with late night Film revelers from 12-2am. The new Fandango Film Lounge will be located in hotel's Capitol Ballroom and will be open March 8–12, from 9am–5pm. I Met my Agency @ SXSW Located in the SXSW Trade Show, this event will bring together agents, recruiters and job-seekers. At 12pm each day, attendees should head to the Meet Up Pavilion to make connections with participating agencies. Opening Speaker at SXSW Interactive SXSW Film Awards at the Paramount The SXSW Film Awards honor the creativity and talent demonstrated by filmmakers and designers in the SXSW program. This year, the awards ceremony will move to the historic Paramount Theatre. See sxsw.com/film for details. Music App Annex For the first time, SXSW Interactive will feature a designated Opening Speaker: Bre Petis, CEO of MakerBot Industries. Live Film Casting Calls at the Next Stage Look for this special section of the Music Gear Expo set up with iPads for hands-on access to cool music creation apps: virtual guitars, keyboards, drums, mixing and DJ software and much, much more. At 2pm daily, the SXSW Trade Show's Next Stage will host readings that will showcase aspiring talent to casting agents, while allowing filmmakers and audience to witness the process. Music Pitch Sessions Mark Your Interactive Party Calendar This year the Interactive Opening Party, Presented by frog design and Microsoft, moves to Friday night (March 8), 8–11pm at the Palmer Events Center. Conversely, the Interactive Mix at Six will move to Saturday night (March 9) and be held from 6–8pm at Haven (409 Colorado St). New Home For the Filmmakers Lounge Moving into a new space on the first floor of the Austin Convention Center, the Filmmakers Lounge is the place for SXSW's filmmakers to relax, enjoy complimentary hospitality and massages (Filmmaker badge required). Similar to the popular Demo Listening Sessions, at the new licensing-focused Music Pitch Sessions, artists will submit music to be synched to a video piece and receive instant feedback and advice from licensing experts and music supervisors. Meet the Insiders at SXSW Film International Day Stage Meet the Insiders gives registrants an opportunity to participate in vital discussions on the innovations and developments within the world of film. Each hour-long session will feature two industry insiders. Film Startup Alley Taking place on Sunday, March 10, Startup Alley will featuring panels and networking opportunities with entrepreneurs and expert investors, as well as demos from new entertainment startups. The International Day Stage at the Austin Convention Center will feature musical acts from every corner of the globe, many of whom have never played in the US before. New Flatstock Stage The Flatstock Stage is the newest SXSW day stage, showcasing your favorite musicians in an unplugged format. Film Panels in the Vimeo Theater In order to admit as many people as possible, major film panels will be held daily in the Vimeo Theater at the Austin Convention Center. Come & Capture Film Factory Participants can explore the newest tools for capturing and creating content. The C&C Film Factory takes place from Saturday, March 9–Tuesday, March 12, at the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel, Capital Ballroom, Section B. Tuesday Convergence Sessions No matter which SXSW conference you are registered for, you can explore some of the areas where Interactive, Film and Music subjects meet through a full slate of convergence sessions on Tuesday, March 12. The Market at Auditorium Shores Located on the west side of Auditorium Shores Park at Lady Bird Lake, the market will be a space designed for select art and fashion vendors to sell their wares.
