Here, each title is showcased in a public voting competition to see who will win one of the coveted Gamer's Voice Awards, with each winner revealed on the night of the SXSW Gaming Awards. The Gamer's Voice Award began in 2014 as a way to bring the best in indie game development to the world's stage at SXSW. Now in its fifth year, the Gamer's Voice Award has grown to become one of the largest, and most impactful, experiences for hundreds of indie developers and teams throughout the gaming industry. With past successes including titles such as SUPERHOT, Gang Beasts, ARENA GODS, and Owlboy, this key part of the SXSW Gaming Festival has become a great opportunity to facilitate growth in both budding and completed indie projects. SXSW Gaming 2018 hosts four Gamer's Voice Awards in total: Gamer's Voice Video Game, Virtual Reality Game, Tabletop Game, and Mobile Game.
