On Friday evening, March 9, don't miss the Interactive Festival Opening Party. This event provides a great venue to make connections that will serve you for the next few days — and beyond. Award ceremonies that are part of the SXSW Interactive Fes- tival honor some of the industry's most important innovators. Catch the winners at events such as the Interactive Innovation Awards, Accelerator Awards, Release It Awards, and Communi- ty Service Awards. Then conclude the Interactive Festival portion of SXSW on Tuesday, March 13 at the Interactive Festival Bash before we head into the second half of SXSWeek with even more exciting programming. Film Festival March 9–17, 2018 2018 marks the 25th Edition of the SXSW Film Festival and we are proud and privileged to play a role in so many careers launched, artists discovered, powerful performances, and more. We can't wait to celebrate the vision and talent of this year's filmmakers. Featuring provocative documentaries, outrageous comedies, genre outliers, and more, our festival is known for the high caliber and diversity of films presented, and for its smart, enthusiastic audiences. The lineup includes 136 feature films consisting of 89 World Premieres, 13 North American Premieres, 6 U.S. Premieres, and 49 feature films from first-time filmmakers. The lineup also features 171 Short Films, Music Videos, Independent Episodics, Title Sequences, and Virtual Reality projects. These films were selected from a pool of 2,476 feature-length film submissions, with a total of 8,183 films submitted for con- sideration. We celebrate the artists and filmmakers from our acclaimed program on Tuesday, March 13 with the Film Awards and our Intermission Party.
