Tomorrow Happens Here: New and Improved for 2013 What's New SATELLITE REGISTRATION LOCATION! SXSW Registration will operate a satellite registration area where SXSW Interactive/Film/Gold/Platinum registrants will be able to pick up their badges, located at the Palmer Events Center in Hall 2: Thursday, March 7: 10am–10pm and Friday, March 8: 9am–11pm. This location is for badge retrieval purposes only. Any Panelists, Filmmakers, Sponsors, Sale Clients, etc. should pick up their badges at the flagship location in the Austin Convention Center in Exhibit Hall 1 during normal operating hours. Lockers and Coat Check Service Digital Creative Job Market With so many events to attend, you might need a safe and secure place to store belongings. SXSW is offering storage lockers with phone charging capabilities for registrant use between 10am and 3am each day of SXSW (March 8–17). The lockers will be located at 2nd and Trinity Streets, directly across the street from the Austin Convention Center. Talented professionals can match their skills with cutting-edge employers at the new Digital Creative Job Market. Free and open to the public: Thursday, March 7 and Friday, March 8 from 10am –6pm at the Palmer Events Center. SXSW Gaming is the new name for SXSW Interactive's fast growing video game component. All programming at SXSW Gaming is free and open to the public, including all sessions and events, Friday, March 8–Sunday, March 10 at the Palmer Events Center. And what better place than SXSW Gaming for the SXSW GEEK Stage, encompassing the best of the geek culture with three days of programming! Palmer Events Center Shuttles Catch a shuttle from the Austin Convention Center (stop located at 3rd Street and Trinity) to the Palmer Auditorium for both the SXSW Satellite Registration location and the Digital Creative Job Market. Shuttles run 10am–6pm on Thursday and from 10am–12am on Friday. Hotel Shuttle Expanded Hours R&R Hotel Shuttle Service will run for limited hours on Thursday, March 7 from 12pm–6pm for registration. SXSW Food Courts SXSW is partnering with Austin food maven and Top Chef Season 9 champion, Paul Qui, to curate a selection of eateries for the attendees of SXSW 2013. SouthBites (located on Red River Street, one block from the Convention Center) will feature gourmet trucks open to the general public and registrants alike. A second food court will be conveniently located at the corner of 5th and Brazos Streets. Both food courts will be open all nine days of SXSW. Interactive Morning Homerooms A new addition to the 2013 lineup, get the most current information about all the presentations, panels, and networking opportunities for the day ahead in SXSW Homerooms. You can also connect and share ideas with other digital creatives. SXcycles This complimentary bike share program is for Platinum, Gold, Interactive, Film and (new for 2013!) Music registrants. Registrants can pick up a bike, complete with helmet, locks, BioLogic lights and Commute Bag, and pedal off to SXSW events. 48 SXSW Gaming is Free and Open to All. New GEEK Stage, Too! New Film Venues See film screenings in the brand new Topfer Theatre, part of the ZACH Theatre complex on South Lamar, just across Lady Bird Lake from downtown. In addition, SXSW Film will use all screens at the Violet Crown Cinema. SXSWORLD / FEBRUARY 2013 WiFi on the Fly! Stay plugged in while riding the Interactive Venue Shuttle with WiFi, courtesy of Hob Nob. SXSW Workshops at the AT&T Conference Center Workshops at SXSW Interactive, held at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center, will include a wide range of programming from some of the top companies in digital industries.
